In response to the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis, Petron Malaysia lent a hand in support of our country’s frontlines, affected communities and needy families.
Together with our employees, business partners, dealers and distributors as well as families and friends we pooled our resources to coordinate a collective effort to express our thoughts, love and support for them during this difficult time.
For our front-liners, we donated over 98,000 pieces of Personal Protection Equipment which consist of 63,200 pieces of gloves, 31,500 pieces of masks, 2,100 pieces of shoe cover and 1,220 pieces of gown to 12 hospitals in 7 states. With the help from our 70 employee volunteers and their family members and friends, we helped make 10,000 pieces of Face Shields.
To alleviate some of the burdens of the affected families and needy people, we distributed 24,000 kilograms of rice, 9,600 kilograms of cooking oil and 1,304 kg of LPG. We also contributed RM5,000 worth of Petron Miles points to MERCY to redeem for fuel in assisting their journeys to deliver food relief to the communities. Some of our dealers set up “free food counter for the community” at their service stations to distribute food items contributed by themselves and the customers.
For the food delivery riders who tirelessly delivered essential items, we gave away 1,152 litres of lubricants to make their journey smoother.
