Petron Service Station Dealers and JKMN Pulau Pinang Enhance Safety at PPDK Centres through ‘360° Kita Bersama’
PENANG – Petron reaffirms its commitment to promoting safety, inclusivity, and sustainability in the community with the launch of 360° Kita Bersama in collaboration with Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat Negeri Pulau Pinang (JKMN Pulau Pinang).
Building on the success of last year’s Kalendar Kita Bersama programme, which featured artwork created by Persons with Disabilities (OKU) in a special calendar, Petron has expanded its collaboration with JKMN Pulau Pinang through this new corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. This year’s programme focuses on strengthening support for the OKU community by enhancing safety and security at Pusat Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti (PPDK) centres.
As part of the programme, Petron’s network of 47 service station dealers across Penang collectively funded the purchase of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems, complete with digital video recorders, amounting to more than RM60,000. The 24 PPDK centres, spread across four regions in Penang, namely Penang Island, Seberang Jaya Utara, Seberang Jaya Tengah and Seberang Jaya Selatan, are under the purview of JKMN Pulau Pinang and will each be equipped with four CCTV units, resulting in the installation of a total of 96 CCTV units across all 24 centres. The installations aim to create a safer environment for learning, rehabilitation, and community activities in the area.
The official launch, held today at PPDK Seberang Jaya, was officiated by YB Puan Lim Hui Ying, Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development. The event was attended by representatives from government agencies, PPDKs, Petron dealers and community partners.
Speaking at the launch, Puan Shaliza Mohd Sidek, Petron Malaysia Head of Retail Business, said: “At Petron, we believe meaningful community engagement goes beyond one-time contributions. Through 360° Kita Bersama, we work closely with JKM through our dealer network to create safer spaces for the OKU community while fostering a culture of care, collaboration, and shared responsibility. We hope this initiative will provide greater peace of mind to PPDK administrators, caregivers and families, allowing them to focus on supporting the development and potential of every participant.”
The launch featured a briefing and demonstration of the CCTV system, a site tour showcasing the completed installation at the centre, and an appreciation ceremony recognising the support of participating stakeholders.

360° Kita Bersama supports Petron’s commitment to social responsibility through programmes that enhance the well-being of underserved communities and promote inclusivity. Upon completion of the CCTV installation at all 24 PPDKs in Penang, expected by mid-August, the initiative is expected to benefit hundreds of participants, educators, and caregivers by providing a safer and more secure environment for learning, rehabilitation and community engagement.
